I do use my website and blog as a means to promote classes or products. Some of these classes may be taught by myself or are projects I am involved with. When I choose an affiliate, I choose to work with companies I love. This means I purchase products from them or that I may be taking a class from them. Any opinions I express are my own.
I do receive some materials ( such as classes or products) through my work on several creative teams. In some cases, those teams may be sponsored by a specific craft company. These teams currently include: Simple Scrapper, Get It Scrapped, and Layout a Week. In many cases, I believe in the companies or individuals so much that I have chosen to become an affiliate or take part in their advertising program in addition to being a creative team member. A small commission may be received through some of the affiliate or advertising links. When my design team term is up, my use of the products doesn’t end. That’s because I loved the product enough to join the team in the first place. It’s highly likely I was using their products before I even applied to work for them.
The following is a list of the affiliate and/or advertising programs in which My Scrapbook Evolution participates.
I shop at…
It’s easy to slip in a scrapbook supply here or there when ordering something the family needs. Amazon is my go to place for just about everything.
I have been an Amazon Prime Member for over a year now and love all of the benefits. We use the Amazon Fire TV as a mean of keeping the family entertained( and in an effort to say goodbye to cable tv).
Christy Strickler of My Scrapbook Evolution is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com.
I take classes at:
I am currently a member of the Get It Scrapped Creative team, but have participated in classes since it began the Masterful Scrapbook Design program. I plan to be a member even after my Creative Team term has ended.

Layout a Day through Lain Ehmann. I am currently a member of the Scraphappy community and participate in several of the layout a day challenges throughout the year. In addition to the Scraphappy Membership, Layout a Day offers a variety of scrapbooking and craft related classes including True Scrap and True Stamp.
I have taken the Lifebook 2013 and 2014 class series. Lifebook is a year long art journaling and mixed media course. Each month a new teacher presents tutorials and tips for creating a project.
I am a premium member of the Simple Scrapper community. Having enjoyed my membership, I chose to join the Simple Scrapper creative team. Membership includes access to story starter prompts, a librayr of sketches, a free monthly inspiration magazine and access to many of the workshops hosted by Simple Scrapper.
During the Summer of 2015, I participated in the Find Your Voice workshop. I enjoyed working with Kristin Tweedale and was happy to become an affiliate for her programs. Kristin offers a range of custom stamps as well as hand curated kits in her shop. To see her most current offerings, pop on over to RuKristin.com. While you are there, you might want to consider picking up a Currently List stamp for your Project Life pages. I use the stamp and pre-made cards weekly and love them!

When I was searching for online classes for my son to further his computer coding skills and video game design skills, I came across Skillshare. I quickly realized that we could both benefit from a premium membership. Skillshare offers a variety of classes which likely has something for everyone in the family. My son will be working with the video game design courses while I learn more about watercolor painting and hand lettering. It was a win-win for us both. There are some free classes available for you to try before you commit. Learn more about Skillshare here.
Udemy is another gem that I discovered while searching for online class options for my son’s homeschool curriculum. It started off with a search to take Arabic and learn Arabic Calligraphy. I found an awesome Arabic Calligraphy course (Become an Arabic Calligraphy Artist from Scratch) which in turn led us to Udemy. The site is packed with courses from the more technical, business side of things( which can be applied to your blog), as well as courses in video game programming, photography and art. It’s a wonderful site to find supplemental courses for your homeschool curriculum as well as to find courses to take as an artistic treat for yourself. Yes, I know this isn’t necessarily craft related. However, as a mom to a teen boy, I know how hard it is sometimes to find the right gift. We got my son a subscription to Loot Crate for his birthday a few years back. He loves it so much that he requests renewals as birthday and Christmas presents. They have a variety of subscriptions and one time crate purchase options. From time to time they have special edition crates available. They even have a special subscription for pets now! Good design is important to any website. I like to use services and products that provide good value for the money at a an affordable price. These are the tools that I use to create MyScrapbookEvolution.com.
I started off using elegant themes when I was new to wordpress. It has saved me loads of headaches and made using wordpress a snap. My Scrapbook Evolution is currently powered by the Divi Theme. I also use several of the plug ins such as the Bloom Email Opt in. Essentially, Divi is a drag and drop builder which makes designing a website super simple for anyone who doesn’t know much about CSS. Click here to visit the Elegant Themes website.
When I need graphics, fonts or templates for my website, I turn to Creative Market. The prices are perfect for someone who is on a budget (and who may or may not have a font addiction). Many of the items here aren’t just for website design. You’ll find a wide selection of actions and presets for photoshop as well as graphics which you can use for hybrid or digital scrapbooking. Click here to visit the Creative Market.
From time to time, I have purchased great deals from Mighty Deals for graphics, fonts, royalty free music, and well…the list could go and on. The deals change frequently. There is something new pretty much on a daily basis. Though Mighty Deals touts itself as the place to go for web designers, it’s also a great resource for bloggers and scrapbookers.
