I don’t use every supply that comes my way. At least not right away. Some of them sit awhile in my scrapbook stockpile patiently waiting for me to use them up. One such set of supplies came my way in December. I received a set of wood veneer number circles in my Freckled Fawn Oh Deer Me kit.
The circles were designed to be used in a December Daily project. The only problem with them is that I don’t do a traditional December Daily. They were set aside until I could come up with a use for them. Here we are a few months later, and an idea has finally hit me.
I won’t use the numbers, however, I can cover them and use them as a dimensional handmade embellishment on my layout. It’s quite simple really. I just need to start by punching a circle large enough to cover the number but small enough to show a bit of the wood veneer frame. You can do something similar even if you don’t have the same wood veneer numbers. Consider using wood veneer circle or even chipboard circles in place of the Freckled Fawn pieces.

How much layering you choose to do on top of the circle embellishment will depend upon how busy the patterns are in your layout. I kept mine simple, embellishing just a few. There are many circles on this layout and the patterns are really busy. To break things up a bit in my grid, I used wood frames in the place of several circles. After matting the photo, I placed it directly on top of the wood circles. They provide instant lift and dimension to the page.
