Once more I had indulged one of his whims in much the same way as my grandfather had indulged mine. My son loved toy animals, just as I had when I was his age. So when he asked for the plastic snake, I bought it without even hesitating. It was, after all, a special outing to the zoo.Shortly after our purchase, we headed into the Herpetarium to look at all of the reptiles.As we approached one particular terrarium, my son called out ” Hey look! He’s just like mine!” He then proceeded to compare his toy snake to the one in the terrarium. As he did so, he would talk to the live snake. At times, it appeared as though the snake was even interested in what he had to say. Documenting these photos would be easy. I had the story and it provided a title for me.

Let’s Dissect This Scrapbook Page and See Just How Easy It is to Make a Quick Layout with 6×6 Paper Pads
I created this layout during LOAD214. The prompt called for me to use older product from my supplies. I chose to work with a Sassafrass 6×6 paper pad to create a basic band design. This particular line was retired when Sassafrass closed it’s doors a few years back.
The breakdown of the layout is really pretty simple. I started with three 4×6 photos with a horizontal orientation.
1 and 2- I used two sheets with the same print to create the foundation for the band.
3- I hid the seam with a piece of washi tape. The tape was placed over a scrap piece of cardstock so that it would contrast with the background better.
Once the band was in place, it was easy to embellish the page and add the title and journaling. This is one of those layout designs that can be completed in under 30 minutes. The most complex part of the page is the canvas. I used a sheet of corrugated cardboard. I misted a pattern over it with a stencil. It took longer for it to dry then it took to build the rest of the design.
