Let’s face it. I have an extreme adoration of cats. There are currently three happy felines in my family and I would adopt more if my husband would let me. My love of cats sometimes spills over into home decor. When I saw these cat cocktail napkins, I immediately wanted them. At the same time, I was loathe to use them. They are just too cute to waste! Rather than hoard the napkins, I chose to incorporate them into a a quick an easy home decor project. This DIY Cat Canvas is easy to make ( even younger kids can make one). The best part is that the supplies are plentiful. There are often enough cocktail napkins in one pack for you to make a canvas for yourself and one to give as a gift!

Supplies for the DIY Cat Canvas

•  Cat Napkins ( or any other cool shaped napkin you want to use!) I found these super cute cat cocktail napkins and knew I wanted to craft with them.Though my napkin choice is very specific, any shaped napkins will work with this tutorial!
• Mod Podge or Gel Medium
• A Sponge or Paintbrush
• A Canvas Consider the following when you are choosing your canvas: the size of the napkin( How will it look when placed on the canvas?), Your budget, and whether or not you will be saving it for yourself or giving it as a gift. Medium to small canvases may be easier to wrap. Knowing an approximate location for the canvas in the house may make it easier to choose the size you want to make.

This technique is easy and inexpensive to implement. It would be so simple to make a set of canvases for each season or refresh your home’s decor often. All you need to do is  to keep your eyes on the lookout for cool cocktail napkins that you can use to create your own unique canvases.
