Cyber Monday Gift Guide RoundUp
Ask yourself a few simple questions to learn the best gifts for your teen or gamer. Click to see the gift guide

It’s Thanksgiving weekend and I still haven’t started most of my holiday shopping( the exception being for my son… I always shop early for him). I don’t know why I put holiday shopping off, but I do. Maybe in part it’s because I struggle with figuring out what I should get my relatives. I know that I am not the only one with this issue. We all feel the pressure of making the holiday season magical and finding the perfect gifts.

A few days ago, I shared a holiday gift guide for teens and gamers. Once I paid attention to the things he was interested in, it was easier to choose gifts for him. It’s a little more difficult when it comes to buying things for my relatives. We have lived abroad for a decade now. Living far away means we are a little out of touch with them and that makes buying a meaningful gift difficult. I always try to choose items I know that I would want to receive myself. Still it doesn’t hurt to have a little inspiration to spark gift giving ideas. Today I am sharing a roundup of gift guides and holiday gift giving resources which will help you shop a little wiser and find gifts that anyone in your family would love to receive.

Consider Making Your Own Gifts

Earlier this month, I participated in the Handmade Holidays Blog hop. The hop occurred over the course of three days featuring a day for recipes, a day for home decor and one for handmade gifts. I participated in the 2nd day of the hop which featured handmade home decor. Sometimes, when I am unsure of what to give someone, I choose to make them a decoration for their home. You can access the Handmade Holidays 2016 Home Decor hop through my post. There are 41 ideas and tutorials for handmade home decor items linked up at the bottom of my tutorial for No Sew Meowy Christmas cat ornaments. Any of them would make wonderful gifts. The ornament I shared and many of the other tutorials feature items kids can make for family and friends. Most are pretty easy to make and could be completed in a short time span.

If you would like to make a homemade gift, consider checking out the Handmade Holidays 2016 gift Hop. Start here with Jennifer Priest’s post about creating the Ultimate Grilling Gift Box and then scroll down for a hop list with 28 ideas and tutorials for creating handmade holiday gifts.

Of course, cookies and treats always go over well. My son cherished the homemade fudge my best friend from high school sent him when he was little. Never underestimate the power of a homemade treat. Homemade food is a great filler for handmade gift baskets. For recipe ideas, start with Jennifer Priest’s Holiday Spritz cookies and then scroll down to see 13 other recipe options.
