The Sustainable Souls Project is designed to create awareness through art. This month, the sustainable souls project is taking a closer look at bees. I think we can all agree that bees and other pollinators are an important part of our ecosystem. Do a web search for how you can do your part and the answers are simple: don’t use pesticides or herbicides that harm bees, buy local honey, plant bee friendly plants around your garden just to name a few. In short, you must become a “keeper of the bees.” Think of any bees you see as special and something to protect rather than as a nuisance.
My contribution to the project is an art journal page. I created my own version of a queen bee. She is humanoid on purpose. I feel as though we need to consider bees to be more than just an insect.
