Scrapbook sketch featuring 3 photos

While Halloween just might be my very favorite holiday, I have to confess that many of the photos still need to be documented on layouts. Using sketches always makes things easier. Using pre-made kits goes a long way too.  This is an exercise which involves using both. I chose to use the October Mini album kit from JBS Mercantile. Exercise Three uses many basic shapes and can easily be used as a Halloween scrapbook sketch or for everyday photos. Even if you don’t have the mini album kit, it’s easy for you to cut your own shapes and play along.

  Supplies

You will need:

3 photos aproximately 3.5 x 5 inches in size

3 circles which are all about the same size

3 journal cards or project life cards sized 3×4 inches

2 pieces of trim or scrap paper strips

embellishments and scrapbook supplies

You can add a rectangular matte for the three photos if you choose.

I staggered the photos in a row and chose not to use the matte. The mini album kit came with pre-cut circular pages which were easy to slide under the photos. Mini albums often come in a variety of materials and shapes which can provide layers or foundations for layers within your pages. Choose mini albums with basic shapes like circles, stars or squares for this technique. Albums that have themed shapes may not work as well if too much of the shape is covered with photos or embellishments.
