Here it is. My first post for 2020 and I am literally just popping in to share a quick post. A pop up post to be exact. My friend, Tina Walker, invited me to be a part of the StencilGirl Pop-up Extravaganza. She is a columnist for the StencilGirl blog. I haven’t made up a pop-up page since my 2001 scrapbook album. I wanted to give it a go to see what I could come up with. After months of deliberating, I came up with the idea of creating a pop-up paper doll book.
I used stencils from my stash to decorate the pages.Creating this “doll” wasn’t easy. Part way through the process, her neck bent. I needed it to be sturdier if I was to allow people to look inside. I took the book apart, and coated the doll body and head with resin. This definitely gave a bit more support. With the deadline for this project looming, I worked fast. I submitted these photos but really, I wasn’t happy with the results. During the days that followed,I kept tweaking and adjusting the book. It’s finished now. However, I haven’t had time to photograph the changes( nor write a truly polished blog post).I have been focused on getting my son back to college for his next term and also dealing with a few health issues. You know…mom life. Please forgive me and be a little patient. I promise the new photos are coming soon. I will update this post when I do. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by Tina’s post to see more Pop-Up inspiration.
