Giving gifts to my son is one of my favorite things. Scrapbooking about those gifts is another. Sometimes though, I just can’t find the right paper to document the story of that special gift. By using the packaging, I can create my own scrapbook supplies which are perfectly themed to match the gift itself.

Boxes, paper inserts, directions and clothing tags are just a few of them items you can use from the packaging to create your own scrapbooking supplies.
Tips for using toy packaging on your scrapbook layouts:
- If you are concerned about the archival quality of the the packaging materials, use an archival mist spray.
- Flatten the packaging materials for storage or cut them into usable pieces as soon as possible. By preparing the packaging for use, you are more likely to use it. Leaving it intact wastes space and eventually the item just becomes trash.
- If the packaging is too big to use on your layout, scan it. You can then scale it down to a more manageable size or create duplicates of some of the images. Print it on matte photo paper or cardstock.
