It’s time for the next ingredient! If you are just finding out about this art collaboration, head over here to find ingredient one.
With the mistake from the previous week, I was hoping that the next ingredient would give me the ability to fix the page. Instead, our next prompt requested us to add words to the page.
There are a lot of options for adding words to the layout. We could choose to write directly on the page, use stamps or collage letters or words from a magazine. Adding text to my work is something I don’t feel I do well. Somehow it always feels out of place to me. I also don’t care much for my penmanship. This meant the safest option was to collage a phrase from a magazine onto the piece. I found one that said “feminine strength” which is, I guess, a phrase that will work with the piece. As I said, I am never keen on adding words. However, challenges like these are meant to pull us out of our comfort zones. I added the phrase to the page with a bit of glue and the feeling that I might be losing the piece again.
I will have to wait another week to see if I can redeem this piece or of it’s destined for the scrap pile. Meanwhile, you can check out what Tina added to her page over on Instagram.
