It’s time for the next ingredient! If you are just finding out about this art collaboration, head over here to find ingredient one.
For a while now, I have been developing my own style of creating faces. My art journals have generally been the place I practice with them. During 2020, almost all of my creative practice ceased. I felt like my skills slipped a bit backward. It was my hope that this challenge would allow me to add a face somewhere. Ingredient 6 gave me that chance.
I decided to add the face to the center. The two clusters on each corner will help frame it. Once more, I find myself making choices with caution. I used a graphite pencil to loosely add the face. This will allow me to edit the features as needed. I don’t know what the future ingredients will be. Depending on the future techniques, I might decide to “push” the face down into the lower layers or “pull” it up towards the upper layers of the page.
I still haven’t decided if the page is a hot mess yet. There are still more ingredients to go. Waiting a week for each ingredient has not been an easy task for me. With the next step done, it’s time to wait another week. Meanwhile, you can go check out Tina’s take on the prompt on her Instagram page.
