I grew up calling it icicles. Some people know it as tinsel. We didn’t have it every year. The strands were quite messy and never wanted to stay on the tree. Icicles are very inexpensive. They are usually available in silver or gold, though I have seen them in a few other colors.
With just a few strands and some gel medium, you can create a lovely textured background. Today, I will be sharing a tag I created. You could easily use the same technique to create greeting cards, project life cards, or a background for a scrapbook layout.

These tags are a great way to give new life to older scrapbook supplies. Use them for scrapbook page embellishments or as gift tags. The technique used with the icicles and gel medium could also be used on a larger scale to create background for scrapbook layouts, gift wrap, or greeting cards.
