It’s been a few years since I wrote this post. I feel the same way about Get It Scrapped as I did back then. I love the membership. I love the community of supportive people. There isn’t any negativity, only encouragement and friendship. I continue to see my style evolve and change as I come to reinforce previously learned design skills with new thoughts and techniques. I know I wouldn’t be such a confident scrapbooker today if it were not for Get It Scrapped.

I have been a member of Masterful Scrapbook Design since it began. It’s one of the courses I always manage to finish each and every month. I love that I can incorporate the concepts I am learning into the layouts I am creating. It satisfies my needs for rich content and I can easily learn design at my current level. Over time, I have been able to revisit concepts, rereading older lessons and taking away new information. I wouldn’t be the memory keeper I am today without Get It Scrapped and Masterful Scrapbook Design. When I look back at my older work and compare it to the layouts I create today, I can see just ho much my work has grown.

This Layout was created May 2010.

Just exactly how do I use Masterful Scrapbook Design? Each month, there is a  focus on a design concept or principle. As I read the magazine, I become mindful  of that one concept. I use it in my layout, practicing it over and over again. Over  time, it becomes part of my process and I am ready to move to the next concept.   Scrapbook coach works in much the same manner for me. Only, it gets me in  touch with the layout designs I use.

In my early days of scrapbooking, I would  often scraplift top name designers or use sketches (almost exclusively). I began using certain foundations for layouts,  however, I didn’t always understand why or how what I used worked. There were times when I wondered if I could ever make a page of my very own.  Both MSD  and Scrapbook coach gave me an understanding of how and why I did the things I  did. They made the design concepts easy understand. With time, my confidence grew. I began making my own pages and I was loving my work. As I understood more about design and my own process, I was able to create faster, producing more layouts than ever before.

This Layout Created Feb. 2013 and published in Let’s Get Sketchy magazine.

The program continues to evolve and amaze me. Debbie Hodge has recently  announced some new changes which I am very excited about. The new program  will combine the magazine portion of Masterful Scrapbook Design with more live    interaction, as well as access to the hands on videos of Scrapbook coach. This is  an all access pass which will enable you to grow and learn, sharing your evolution  with a wonderful community of digital and paper scrapbookers.

I have come so far with masterful Scrapbook Design and the Get It Scrapped community. I am really excited to see where it will take my work in the future. How about you? Will you join me? ( Please note that I am a member of the Get It Scrapped Design team. Even if I weren’t, I would still subscribe as a member. I love Get It Scrapped!)
