Over the years, family members have passed away. Each time, I ended up receiving a box of photos. Though I valued each box as a unique treasure, I never quite seemed to know what to do with them. I packed them carefully away to consider scrapbooking on another day.
Maybe it’s because I don’t quite know everyone in the photos. Or perhaps I am just too excited about documenting the now. Either way, it’s a lost opportunity.
Lately, the topic of heritage photos has surfaced within memory keeping circles. I have seen several articles about it over at Get It Scrapped. We even broached the subject on the DigiScrap Geek Podcast. My personal take on the documenting of heritage photos is that one must simply choose a starting place and move forward. Now it just so happens that Layout a Day will be offering a free class this month on the very topic at hand.
Let’s take the opportunity to document those older photos sitting in boxes.
