Desk organization is important to me (though my husband would probably disagree due to the constant state of creative chaos on my desk). There are a few tools that I use regularly and thus, like to keep close at hand. Of all my pens and markers, a select few are used on a daily basis. Having a desk without drawers means that I have needed a solution for keeping them tidy but within reach. I decided to upcycle a food container. The whole project was easily completed in under an hour.
The food container that I used to create the pen holder has been sitting on my desk for a few months. Before I devoted my time and supplies to the craft, I wanted to make sure that the container I had chosen suited my needs. Once I got into the habit of putting my pens away in the container, I realized that it was a good solution for me and I wished I had decorated it sooner. If you need a container for you pens, look for one that suits the size you need, test using it for a few weeks and then, if it’s working for you, decorate it. Just don’t wait as long as I did to do so!
