My creative space isn’t large and frankly, it isn’t beautiful. It’s a storage closet in our spare bedroom which just so happens to have a desk built inside it. Over the past year or so, I have manged to make it more usable. However, it can still use some tweaks.

Clutter is often a problem for me. As I peruse my supplies, I often come across partially used packages of embellishments. I make it my goal to try to use them up during the month. I often end up with a stack or two of embellishments or tools just waiting to be used. In the past, these would sit on piles around my desk. I wouldn’t remember to use the items as I often forgot about what was in the pile. My cats would knock stuff off the desk, causing further mess. At one point I tried baskets to hold the chosen items. I still found I wasn’t making good use of them. I just couldn’t see what I had put in the baskets.

Deflecto Craft Tilt Bins

After becoming a Deflecto Ambassador, I was introduced to the craft tilt bins. The bins interlock and stack on top of one another. They fit perfectly at the back of my desk. I was able to rest them on top of my video camera set up. The drawers open smoothly  which will make it easy to grab embellishments while I film process videos or work on a layout. The  clear plastic drawers  allow me to see what is inside. I now have enough room to store new products I want to use along with the partially open packages and tools. The craft bins really are the perfect compact solution.

My space may not be the most beautiful of rooms, however, it gets a little more practical every month. I find that focusing on one area to make tweaks on makes it less overwhelming for me both with time and budget.
