Creativity is a habit and so is blogging. All it takes is one little thing to derail you, and your creative habit takes a hit. In my case, it was that issue with my website a few weeks back. Who knew it would have such an impact on me! I have continued to create art journal pages using the prompts from the Stencilfied Journal Project. I just haven’t kept the habit of blogging them in a timely fashion. My goal is to get back on track with that. Speaking of which, here is my take on prompt 13 in which we paint on your shoe and in our art journals using a stencil.
Here is a closer look at the texture that resulted by stamping with the shoe tread. This particular sandal created crisp, raised lines.

While I am no stranger to using found objects in my art journal and scrapbook projects, I probably wouldn’t have stamped with a shoe if it were not for this prompt. I am giving myself over to the notion of relaxing more when I draw. Instead of perfection, I just kind of let the process happen. I think the result is that the eyes in my drawings are becoming more expressive.
Now it is your turn to try the prompt. Leave a link to your creation in the comments below. Remember to wash the shoe off immediately after you use the paint and don’t use any expensive shoes just in case. If you need inspiration ,be sure to check out Tina Walker’s Blog for her take on the prompt.
