Each Amy Tangerine Stitching Template set came with two sheets of stitching templates. It also came with a paper piercer, punching mat, a needle and several colors of floss.
When I opened my kit, I found that the paper piercer felt a little greasy. I washed it with soap and water, which removed the odd, greasy coating. The needle was a little large for my taste. I don’t like large holes in the paper when I hand stitch. I replaced it with a smaller needle from my supplies. I do like the bright colors of the floss that came with the kit, though I could see them not working for everyone.
Pros
Small portable mat and paper piercer. You could easily take this kit to crops.
Many unique designs, some of which are nicely detailed
Easy to use
The paper piercer does not leave large holes in the project when used with the templates.
Cons
The templates may curl if not stored completely flat.
Some designs were very basic and could have been drawn by hand.
The kit came with a large needle.
The floss colors may not appeal to everyone.
The paper pierces was greasy when the kit was first opened. I am not sure of this is normal or was just something that happened with my kit.
Overall, the kit is easy to use. You may need to glance at the template from time to time to ensure you are stitching the correct parts of the design. The mat is small enough that you can take it with you to crops. Though some of the template designs were very basic, there were enough unique designs to justify buying the set. The themes of the template designs are general enough that you could use these templates for a variety of projects.
Update- February 7th 2014
Since writing this review, I have obtained several( in fact almost all) of the Amy Tangerine Stitching templates. Each kit came with a paper piercer, however, the greasy substance on my first kit was not observed. I continue to enjoy the paper piercing sets and I regard them as an investment tool.
