At first, I wasn’t too sure of the whole neon color craze. I wanted a product that allowed me to use the bright colors but to have a lot of control over how I applied them. I kept hearing rave reviews about the new Hero Arts Ink Daubers, so I decided to give them a try.

I decided to use them with a stencil. The ink wet the applicator tip quickly. I first tried rubbing the green ink applicator across the stencil. The results were ok and not as crisp as I would have hoped for.I next tried daubing the purple ink onto the stencil. Daubing is definitely the way to go. Some of the ink did leak under the stencil, however the result was a stunning. I loved how the ink was darker in the spots the stencil occupied while open areas of the stencil had a slightly lighter color.

Stamping the stencil off also yielded nice results. The colors were just a tad more muted than straight from the dauber.

Pros

Easy to apply

Good coverage

Vibrant color

Cons

Blue seems less neon and more powdery in color

I also experimented with a few splats. I loved the results. I so wish the blue was a tad bit more neon, however, all of the inks performed well overall. There are two other colors which I did not purchase: orange and yellow. I wish now that I had and will definitely consider them in the future.

4 out of 5 stars
