I confess that I love a good scrapbook sketch. Sometimes you just need a little guidance to get things underway. I know that many of you feel the same. I often see people posting requests for sketch resources on various social media sites. I was recently introduced to Simple Sketches by way of Mandi Holmes. Simple Sketches was founded earlier this year and features four new sketches to play with each month.
I decided to play with their latest sketch. It seemed just right for washi tape. I wanted to use a lot of bright colors for these photos of my son in the candy shop. We had a very non-traditional Halloween. He is too old for the few local activities here. So instead, we took him trick or treating in the pay by the pound candy store.
Oh Sugar! by Christy Strickler Supplies| Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: American Crafts; Tape: Freckled Fawn, Doodlebug; Die Cuts: Chic Tags; Paint,Mist: Ranger; Ink: Hero Arts; Other; Button, ZipLoc Bag, glass beads; Simple Sketches #12
If you read the supply list, you might have wondered about the ZipLoc bag. The candy was packaged in baggies with the store name printed on them. I wiped the bag clean, then machine stitched around the store name. I then cut the name out and adhered it to cardstock. It’s the perfect title.
I know you will enjoy the sketches offered by Simple Sketches. They do have a link up under each sketch. Be sure to share your creations with them!
This is so YUMMY! Thanks for playing with Simple Sketches.
