Each and every month, I get the Antiquarian kit from JBS Mercantile. I’t s good way for me to expand my collection of Vintage Ephemera with very little effort on my part. I have never been lucky enough to find much in the way of vintage goodies when I am at a garage sale or out thrifting. Each kit is a small treasure box capturing small spaces in time. Even my husband and son find the kits interesting.

I often find myself inspired by the labels found within these kits. Aside from their motifs or themes, they inspire me with their interesting color palettes. I have decided to pull a few from my kits each month and to share the palettes with you.

Vintage Color Formula 1 I loved the fresh minty green paired with the navy in this particular label. Yellow isn’t  one of my favorite colors, but the dash of it added here suggests that I can do the same  on a project without it being an overpowering choice. Hidden within the wording is the  teeniest bit of turquoise.

Vintage Color Formula 2 This lady is so elegantly attired in her lacy veil. The pastoral scene behind her speaks of  serenity. I wonder why this image chose this for a Tobacco label? I found the tiniest bit of Radiant Orchid hidden within the flowers.

Vintage Color Formula 3I love the soft pink and Mint Used here though I must admit, the subtle witch theme begs for this to be used on a Halloween project.

I’ll be pulling some of these colors from the labels to supplement my February JBS Mercantile kits. I may even use the labels themselves for a project.
